Young Carers
At The Sutton Academy, we recognise the incredible dedication and resilience of our young carers. This section is designed to provide support, resources, and a sense of community for students who take on caregiving responsibilities at home.
Who are Young Carers? Young carers are students who help look after a family member with a disability, illness, mental health condition, or addiction. Their contributions are invaluable, and we are committed to ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.
Our Commitment We offer a range of services tailored to the unique needs of young carers, including:
- Counselling and Emotional Support: Professional guidance to help manage stress and emotional challenges.
- Academic Assistance: Flexible learning options and tutoring to accommodate caregiving responsibilities.
- Peer Support Groups: A safe space to connect with others who understand their experiences.
- Extra-curricular Activities: Opportunities to relax and enjoy hobbies outside of caregiving duties.
Get Involved If you are a young carer or know someone who is, please reach out to our dedicated team. We are here to listen, support, and empower you every step of the way.
Together, we can create a nurturing environment where young carers feel valued and supported.
